One of Steve's two Rocket obtained starters. Steve's overuse of the word 'buttsnack' resulted in this once Mudkip responding to it as though it were his name. Buttsnack is stern with Steve. He's a little bossy, but not too mean. He currently feels reluctantly fond of his trainer. He saw him as a chore at first, but although he still feels very loyal towards Team Rocket he does like Steve. Secretly. He does his best to strike the right balance of keeping him on track without making him totally miserable, but since evolving into Swampert he comes off as much more intimidating. He does try to come off friendlier as a sort of 'public persona' when around non-Rockets. Steve doesn't distinguish between his team for Rocket or general purposes, so he does his best to appear more relaxed when not on business. He isn't necessarily the best at it though.

He held back on evolving for a while to avoid freaking Steve out (Buttsnack's noticed he can be a touch dramatic), and learn moves he'd miss out on if he evolved too soon. Despite this, he's still annoyed at Beaky for upstaging him and evolving before he did. Twice.

He wants to be the strongest Pokémon he can be, and knows Steve isn't smart enough to strategize effectively, so he tries to play the role of leader. Unfortunately, not all of Steve's Pokémon listen to him as much as he'd like. He's also pretty resentful of Steve's obvious favoritism when it comes to Bessie.

Now he's level 100, he reluctantly allows other Pokémon take his spot on Steve's team in the name of allowing others to be strong enough to be a good asset for Team Rocket. That is, so long as Steve remembers to update him between towns and include him on Rocket missions. He gets grumpy if Steve neglects to comply with either of these things.

The second of Steve's Rocket obtained starters. Unlike Buttsnack, Stink Bomb doesn't care one way or another about Team Rocket. In fact, so far as Steve can tell he only cares about three things; fun, sleep, and food. Steve could get behind that more if the fun didn't seem to usually be at his expense.

Finally, after far too many attempts resulting in wiping out a wild Pokémon before throwing a ball, Steve has managed to catch his first Pokémon. Beaky can be nervous, and is quite jumpy when she hears any unexpected sounds.

She evolved mere days after Steve caught her, much to his alarm. Sure, he'd been told that was a thing that happened, but seeing it up close and personal for the first time freaked him out a little. His initial startled reaction made her even more nervy around him, but Steve was pretty keen on her new form once he got used to it. He was much more excited about evolution by the time she evolved into Pidgeot.

Although his boisterous nature still startles her sometimes, she is fond of her trainer. She tries her best to curb his impulsiveness, though these attempts often fail.

She is a powerful if reluctant battler, preferring to be used as transport rather than part of Steve's battle team. She would probably quite enjoy carrying mail if she were ever given the opportunity.

The first of Steve's Pokémon to instantly take a liking to him. He's extremely excitable and very affectionate with just about anyone. Officially called Blaze, but also responds to Dog Breath. This slobbery mutt's licks have more than earned him the nickname.

He looks kind of terrifying since he evolved, but he's still just as big a goof as he's always been.

After spending almost a month bumming around in Goldenrod before starting his journey, Steve became very aware of the power of Whitney's Miltank. When he came across MooMoo Farm, he couldn't resist blowing all his money on a Miltank of his very own.

Bessie is extremely calm and placid. Her favourite thing to do is eat, but even then her expression rarely wavers. Still, she is a force to be reckoned with in battle even if it doesn't seem to be her passion. In fact she's taken down the very Miltank that inspired Steve to buy her.

Steve plays clear favorites where Bessie's concerned, and although he's reluctantly pulled her from his main team to maximize on his ability to level up his other Pokémon he looks for any excuse to bring her out again.

She likes to cuddle, and Steve indulges her in private. Her wool is amazingly soft, making her a favorite candidate when choosing a Pokémon to ride on.

This is apparently a dragon type?? She looks more like one now, but Steve didn't see it in her former evolutions. Since evolving from Sliggoo, she's lost all trace of aggression outside of battle and is once again very affectionate. A bit too affectionate sometimes. Steve has to bathe far more often thanks to her hugs, which is ultimately probably a blessing.

After encountering a mysterious woman during a heist at the Pewter Museum, Team Rocket were given a bunch of rare fossil Pokémon as part of a deal to keep quiet. They were later given out to participating team members as "rewards" for their efforts.

Snotball doesn't feel like much of a reward. All the fossil Pokémon seem kind of off, but Snotball seems extra unfortunate. It seems like it's suffering no matter what Steve does. It's always wearing at least a scarf to try and make it feel a little better.
